We take great pride in our coffee, it's all we do. From sourcing the best green coffee from across the globe to continuously improving our roasting and cupping techniques to unlock unique flavours, Coaltown coffee is quality coffee, plain and simple.
Ethically Sourced Coffee
Coaltown is and always has been, focussed on building sustainable relationships with high-quality coffee growers around the world.
We understand that the farmers are at the heart of what separates coffee from quality coffee, which is why we cut out the middleman and use a direct trade model to source our green beans. This allows us to pay our farmers fairly for the dedication and effort they put in every day, as well as forge important relationships with them.
Freshly Roasted
All of our coffee is roasted daily at our HQ in Ammanford, South West Wales. By hand roasting in small batches, our Head of Coffee is able to judge the timing and temperature to perfection, delicately drawing out complex flavour notes from raw green beans.
Probat roasters produce the best, most consistent coffee profiles in the world, which is why we have two; a 12kg and a 75kg roaster. Our GG75 roaster, Geoffery, was found in a field in Italy and took 4 years to restore. Now, he sits in pride of place in the Roastery window, showing off his custom copper cladding and roasting our large batch single origins and our most popular house blends, Candle Light No1 and Black Gold No3.

Our training courses are designed to spark that process. They give teams the foundations they need to understand coffee properly, while also building confidence in practical, hands-on execution.
