Valentine's Day Cocktail - Coaltown Martini
Original Coaltown Espresso Martin is the unique blend of our two perfectly crafted elements, made with the Black Gold number 3 pods and the Coaltown Standard Coffee Liqueur. The latest edition has a newly developed profile with the notes of candied plum, blackberry and wine gums. Perfect addition to your espresso martini!
We would like to introduce two different recipes alongside the original recipe, of enjoying a Coaltown Espresso Martini on the day of LOVE.
To create a perfectly balanced Coaltown Espresso Martini follow the original recipe - to begin with, make some space on your freezer shelf and put your glasses in to chill for about 20 minutes before sipping your finished cocktail. Follow the steps below to make the sugar syrup!
Sugar Syrup Ingredients :
- 300g caster sugar
- 150ml water
Recipe :
- dissolve 300g caster sugar in 150ml over a low heat
- leave to cool and bottle for future use in cocktails, store in the fridge
Recipe for 1 glass :
- a handful of ice
- 20ml sugar syrup
- two of the Coaltown Black Gold Espresso Pods using the ristretto button on your Nespresso machine, that will give you 2 x 25ml of Black Gold = 50ml for 1 martini
- 25ml Coaltown Standard Coffee Liqueur
- 25ml vodka
- coffee beans to garnish
Grab your cocktail shaker alongside with a handful of ice, 20ml of sugar syrup, 50ml of Coaltown Black Gold Espresso, 25ml of Coaltown Standard Coffee Liqueur and 25ml of vodka. Make sure, you pour the freshly brewed coffee in the shaker last, so the ice doesn’t melt. Shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker feels icy cold, for about 10 to 20 seconds. Double strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a couple of coffee beans if you’d like.
Whiskey Espresso Martini
by replacing the vodka element with a single malt scotch whisky we choose to grate a 65% chocolate on the top of our martini that will connect the fruitiness of the whisky with the sweetness of the chocolate to the coffee liqueur.
Recipe for 1 glass :
- a handful of ice
- 10ml sugar syrup
- two of the Coaltown Black Gold Espresso Pods using the ristretto button on your Nespresso machine, that will give you 2x 25ml of Black Gold = 50ml for 1 martini
- 25ml Coaltown Standard Coffee Liqueur
- 25ml single malt scotch whisky
- grated 65% dark chocolate to garnish we chose it to complement the liqueur alongside the coffee with its earthy and nutty notes
