Introducing: Ty Fferm

Tucked away in the heart of Abergavenny is Ty Fferm, one of those rare spaces that feels like a gentle pause button on a busy day. Despite being set right in the centre of an often bustling town, stepping through the door feels like entering a completely different rhythm of life, slower, softer and deeply intentional.

From the moment you arrive, there’s a warm welcome from owners Gaz and Tegan that immediately sets the tone. The atmosphere feels carefully considered rather than accidental: gentle background music, the subtle scent of homemade bara brith drifting through the air, welsh made incense burning and fresh locally grown flowers placed with quiet care around the space. It’s the kind of sensory combination that instantly makes you feel calm.

At the heart of Ty Fferm is a real dedication to natural living and thoughtful design. The shop is beautifully curated, offering a mix of UK-made ceramics, antiques, seeds, provisions, apothecary and homeware pieces that feel both functional and meaningful. Everything is chosen with a sense of purpose, nothing feels rushed or mass-produced and there’s a clear emphasis on craftsmanship and simplicity.

Coffee plays a central role here too. Ty Fferm proudly stocks our retail coffee, what makes the experience even more special is that you can enjoy a cup in-house. Watching it in action while browsing the shop adds a subtle layer of theatre to the experience, an artisan machine quietly doing what it does best, while you drift between shelves of carefully selected goods. Alongside the coffee, there’s even more rooted in local and homegrown goodness: Gaz and Tegan sell their own homegrown teas and homemade cakes, which bring a deeper personal touch to the space. It’s not just about selling products, it’s about sharing a lifestyle that feels grounded, seasonal and connected to place.

There’s also a creative thread running through Ty Fferm that links naturally to Gaz and Tegan, their work champions plant-forward, nature-led living with a strong Welsh identity. That same ethos of simplicity, sustainability and creativity echoes through the space, whether it’s in the food, the curated products or the overall philosophy of the shop.

It feels less like a commercial retail environment and more like stepping into someone’s thoughtfully built home, one that they’re generously opening up to others. What makes Ty Fferm truly memorable, though, is the feeling it leaves you with. It’s peaceful without being empty, curated without feeling cold and stylish without ever becoming detached. We’ve loved working with the Ty Fferm team so far, there’s a shared attention to detail and care for craft that makes collaborating with them feel genuinely natural and aligned. That same thoughtfulness they put into their space is reflected in how they approach everything they do, from coffee to curation to customer experience. They are currently open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11am–5pm, offering a weekend window into their world of natural living, great coffee and considered design right in the centre of Abergavenny.
