Introducing: The Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen

On Swansea Bay’s shoreline, The Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen feels as if it has always been part of the view. It doesn’t seek to stand out; instead, it quietly sits along the horizon, welcomes you in, offering hospitality that’s effortless yet intentional. Founded by Lucy Hole and her team, every element, from the food and drinks to the light and the pace of service, is considered, coming together in a space that feels relaxed and purposeful.

From the moment you enter, the atmosphere is approachable and warm. A friendly greeting makes new visitors feel immediately like a regular customer. Materials, textures and the layout combine into a subtle, understated interior. The space encourages lingering: to watch the tide, catch up with friends, work remotely or simply enjoy a coffee. There’s a calm confidence in how it all sits together; it doesn’t try to impress, it just works. Whether you’re stopping in for a morning coffee or a long evening of food and conversation, the space accommodates it all with a quiet generosity.

The kitchen and bar reflect the same approach. The menu focuses on British cuisine and authentic Welsh dishes, combining classic flavours with a modern touch. Drinks are treated with equal care, from our coffee to thoughtfully crafted cocktails and seasonal offerings. Quality is consistent, with attention to detail visible in every interaction and the open-plan layout that allows the space to breathe and flow so well.

The Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen doesn’t need trends to define it. Its charm lies in its warmth, consistency and attentive staff. Each visit feels slightly different, shaped by the time of day, the changing crowd and the seasonal menus. It earns your loyalty by delivering exactly what it promises: a place to slow down, refuel and enjoy being by the beach.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with Lucy Hole and her team, from training the staff and seeing them grow in their coffee knowledge, to watching that knowledge in action. The attention to detail they bring to every coffee served to everyone who walks through their doors is evident in every sip, reflecting both their skill and care.
